Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound shrimp
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed and divided
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley, optional

Directions

Step 1 –If your shrimp is frozen, place it in a colander and run cool water over the shrimp for a couple of minutes or until thawed. If your shrimp is shell-on or tail-on, remove the shell and tail.

Step 2 –Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel.

Step 3 –Add the butter and olive oil to a large skillet.

Step 4 –Heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat on the stove-top until the butter is melted and is beginning to foam.

Step 5 –Add the prepared shrimp to the skillet and cook the shrimp on each side just until pink and opaque, about 1-3 minutes per side. Be very careful not to overcook the shrimp.

Step 6 –Add the garlic and 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice to the skillet.
