Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- black pepper, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- salt, to taste
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 2 (.87 ounce) packets chicken gravy mix
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Optional for serving:
- rice, to taste
- mashed potatoes, to taste
- noodles, to taste
- green onions, to taste, sliced, for topping
Directions
Step 1 –Season both sides of the chicken breasts with the black pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
Step 2 –In a slow cooker, combine the cream of chicken soup, gravy packets, and water until it reaches a smooth consistency.
Step 3 –Add in the seasoned chicken breasts, coating them in the gravy.
Step 4 –Cover and cook on low until the chicken is cooked through and reads 165 degrees F when checked with a meat thermometer, about 6-8 hours.
Step 5 –Use a fork to break the chicken up into pieces.
Step 6 –Stir in the sour cream.
Step 7 –Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles top with the sliced green onions.
