Ingredients
- 3/4 cup chicken stock
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 3 pounds chicken breast, boneless, skinless, and cut into 2-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup yellow onion, grated
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter, cut into 4 pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- cilantro, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 –In a slow cooker, mix together the chicken stock, the tomato paste, the lemon juice, the garlic, the ginger, the cinnamon, the salt, the cumin, the turmeric, and the garam masala until fully-combined.
Step 2 –Add in the chicken, the onion, the sugar, and the butter and lightly stir.
Step 3 –Cover and cook on high until the chicken is tender and cooked through at 165 degrees F, about 4 hours.
Step 4 –Stir in the heavy cream.
Step 5 –Garnish with the cilantro and serve.
