  • butter, to taste, for greasing the pan
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup white or yellow onion, grated or finely diced
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon meatloaf seasoning
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup barbeque sauce

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Step 2 –Lightly grease a 9×5–inch loaf pan with the butter.

Step 3 –In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, the plain breadcrumbs, the onion, the eggs, the meatloaf seasoning, the ketchup, and the Worcestershire sauce and mix until all the ingredients are well-combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 4 –Transfer the meatloaf mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape the top into a mound.

Step 5 –Place the meatloaf in the middle of the middle oven rack and cook, about 50 minutes.

Step 6 –Transfer the meatloaf from the oven and coat it with the barbeque sauce.

Step 7 –Return the meatloaf to the oven to cook until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 155 degrees F, about 10-20 minutes.

Step 8 –Drain off the excess grease and allow the meatloaf to rest until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 10 minutes.
