Ingredients
For the scones:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more, to taste, for dusting a work surface
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
For the cinnamon-sugar topping:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2 –Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3 –In a large bowl, add 2 cups of the flour, 1/3 cup of the sugar, the baking powder, and the salt and stir to combine.
Step 4 –Create a well in the flour mixture and pour the heavy cream into the center.
Step 5 –Mix the dough mixture until it holds together but isn’t overly sticky.
Step 6 –Dust a work surface with the extra flour and place the dough onto the floured surface.
Step 7 –Divide the dough in half and form it into discs about 1 1/2-2 inches tall.
Step 8 –Cut the discs like a pizza into 6 triangles.
Step 9 –Transfer the scones to the prepared baking sheet.
Step 10 –Bake the scones until the centers are set and the edges start to brown, about 12-14 minutes.
Step 11 –While the scones are baking, in a small bowl, add the cinnamon and the remaining sugar and mix to combine.
Step 12 –Let the scones cool for 5 minutes.
Step 13 –Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar over the scones to coat.
Step 14 –Serve.
