Classic Easy Meatloaf

There’s nothing quite like some homemade meatloaf. Classic Easy Meatloaf is the epitome of a delicious comfort meal! Tender beef is combined with onion, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and more for an entrée that is succulent and full of flavor. Classic Easy Meatloaf is savory and hearty, and it can be served with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, or any other home-cooked, country-style side of your choice!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, 90% lean
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons plus 1/4 cup ketchup, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –In a large bowl, add the beef, the breadcrumbs, the onion, the milk, the egg, 2 tablespoons of the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, the parsley, the salt, the garlic powder, and the pepper.

Step 3 –Use your hands to mush and mix the meat mixture together until well combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 4 –Add the meat mixture to a loaf pan and pat the meat down into an even layer.

Step 5 –In a small bowl, add the remaining ketchup, the brown sugar, and the vinegar, stir to combine.

Step 6 –Pour the sauce on top of the meatloaf and spread it into an even layer.

Step 7 –Bake uncovered for 55 minutes.

Step 8 –Let the meatloaf rest for 8-10 minutes before serving to prevent it from falling apart.

Step 9 –Serve.
