Dessert Salsa

This is how to conclude an amazing Taco Tuesday! Or Mexican Cuisine Monday! Or maybe just any day of the week! Dessert Salsa mixes crisp apples, bright strawberries, juicy blueberries, and even some distinct kiwi in a sweet jam mixture ready to be scooped up! But of course, not just any chip should be used to scoop up Dessert Salsa! No, you need a homemade crunchy, smoky, sweet cinnamon-sugar-coated chip to really make the most of this dessert! And you’ll want to make the most of this treat for sure!

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-inch) package large flour tortillas, cut into wedges
  • cinnamon sugar, to taste
  • 1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and cut into small chunks
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored and cut into small chunks
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup strawberries, diced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

Step 1 –Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2 –Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3 –Lay out the tortilla wedges on the prepared parchment paper and spray them with the cooking spray.

Step 4 –Generously sprinkle the tortillas with the cinnamon sugar.

Step 5 –Bake the tortilla wedges until they are crispy, about 8-10 minutes, baking in batches if needed.

Step 6 –In a mixing bowl, add the Golden Delicious apples, the Granny Smith apples, the kiwis, the strawberries, and the blueberries and mix well.

Step 7 –Add the white sugar, the strawberry jam, and the lemon juice to a separate bowl and mix well.

Step 8 –Add the jam mixture to the fruit mixture and stir to combine.

Step 9 –Let the salsa sit in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.

Step 10 –Serve the salsa with the cinnamon chips.
