This Honey Wheat Bread recipe makes a loaf with just a touch of sweetness, perfect for French toast, jam spreads, sharp cheeses, or turkey sandwiches. Whether you need a slice to mop up Thanksgiving gravy or just want a bite of buttered toast, Honey Wheat Bread is versatile and hearty as only homemade can be!

Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water, 110 degrees F
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
Step 1 –Dissolve the yeast into the warm water.
Step 2 –Then add in the honey, and mix well.
Step 3 –Add in the whole wheat flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour.
Step 4 –Move the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for at least 10-15 minutes.
Step 5 –When the dough is smooth and elastic, place it into a well oiled bowl.
Step 6 –Move the dough several times in the bowl to cover the surface of the dough, and then cover it with a damp cloth.
Step 7 –Allow it to rise in a warm place until it is doubled in bulk, around 45 minutes.
Step 8 –Punch the dough to collapse it.
Step 9 –Shape it into the two loaves, and then place the loaves into two well-greased 9 by 5 inch pans.
Step 10 –Let them rise until the dough is 1-1 1/2 inches above the pans.
Step 11 –Then bake the loaves at 375 degrees F for around 25-30 minutes.
Step 12 –Let the dough cool as much as possible to ensure the best crumb of your bread.
Step 13 –Serve with whatever toppings or spread you desire!
