How Long Is Little Nightmares?

Many gamers who have finished Little Nightmares may be perplexed as to what is happening in the tale and what the finale symbolizes. This isn’t surprising, given that Little Nightmares is a game that can be both fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

In Little Nightmares, looking into all of the decaying nooks of the various levels yields some cute stuff. There are also some frightening details. However, it is not required to play the game. The average amount of time I spend playing is around 2-3 hours, with my longest run taking around 4 hours.

The setup is straightforward. Little Nightmares is a side-scrolling adventure puzzle game that, rather than jump scares, aims to terrify you with your surroundings and the scenarios you find yourself in.

Six is a little raincoat-wearing child of unknown origin who wanders around a level known as “The Prison” in what is known as The Maw. At first, it’s unclear how Six got there or what he’s doing in this nightmare world.

However, the game was made primarily for PC. The controls using a gamepad are simple, but the game doesn’t provide you with any hints about how to use them. You figure things out on your own, or the UI provides you with a few pointers if you fail enough times.

It’s a lot of fun to solve puzzles in this game. Your main goal is to move from room to room as you progress through the game stages while avoiding any of the numerous nightmares that could injure you.

Why Is Little Nightmares That Long?

Little Nightmares is a tale that you may make your own. The game is reminiscent of Playdead’s Limbo and Inside in that, you are given minimal backstory and less conversation as you progress through the game.

The tale you get is based on what you piece together from the environment and your progress through the game. Frequently, the stories you unearth are about the specific nightmare realms you traverse. And they’re seldom as straightforward as they appear.

However, after only a few hours of gameplay, the main story of Six’s trip through The Maw comes to a close. Little Nightmares could easily have been twice as long, and I’m not sure why it isn’t.

If you don’t want to take your time and just want to get through the game, you’ll immediately find that there isn’t much new in terms of mechanics. All you have to do is push or move items, pull levers, and occasionally rip off a stray 24.

So it’s a basic side-scroller with a strong emphasis on art design. And, wow, is this game visually appealing.

Conclusion

The game’s intensity isn’t overly difficult. The majority of the riddles are simple and intuitive to solve. Most of your annoyance will stem from your inability to view at certain angles.

The camera angle is fixed because this is a side scroller, but the 3D level design makes you feel like you should be able to shift it around. And if it isn’t your incapacity to see around the next curve that kills you, it will most likely be that vexingly unfair death at the hands of an inexorable foe.

When you’re in the middle of a fight with one of The Maw’s numerous residents, Little Nightmares isn’t at its best. The game’s art, as well as the tiny stories, told in each area and some of the more difficult puzzles to solve shine brillilantly.
