The production of egg white cervical mucus is triggered by a hormone called Estrogen. So if the level of estrogen in the body is low, the body wouldn’t be able to produce enough fertile cervical mucus.

After menstruation ends, the vaginal discharge changes from dry to sticky to creamy and lastly to EWCM, just before ovulation.
