Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • salt, to taste
  • 6 slices of bread, thick
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, plus more as needed

Directions

Step 1 –Lightly butter a griddle.

Step 2 –In a shallow bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

Step 3 –Heat the prepared griddle over medium-high heat.

Step 4 –Dunk the slices, one at a time, in the egg mixture, being sure to soak both sides.
