One needs to be consistent with their skincare routine. This helps the skin to flourish and show the best results. If you go for skincare after some breaks then, you may notice that your skin lacks energy during the period you hadn’t gone for any skincare. Hence, whatever the skincare routine be, it should be followed daily. The most basic steps which one should include in his/her skincare routine are:- cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and then sunscreen.

The most important step which is to be done at the beginning of the day is cleansing. Cleansing should be carried out at least twice a day, once in the morning and the next time at night before going to bed. After cleaning, one can go for toning. Toning is even essential because it helps to fill up the open pores. One can use rose water or serum for toning. This step is followed by moisturizing. Moisturizer is used to moist the skin ensuring that it does not run dry. If moisturizer is used daily, then it prevents excessive oil secretion of the skin.

This step is followed by sunscreen. Sunscreen is the most essential step. Even if you no outing plans or any such plan to step out of your house, it is essential to have sunscreen on your face. But, if you want to go out, then make sure you apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before stepping out. The sunscreen must have proper SPF to help fight UV rays. Irrespective of what your skin type may be, you should take lots of water.

Moisturize

However, sometimes people even go for applying AHA after toning. This is used to exfoliate the skin which is a very essential step. However, AHA is an active component of the products used in the daily skincare routine. AHA is used to remove the remaining dead cells and tissues from the skin. However, after applying any product containing AHA, one should wait for at least 20 minutes for the product to be effectively dissolved in the skin before going for a moisturizer.

Why Should One Wait So Long To Moisturize After AHA?

AHA is very essential for the skin. Exfoliation is an importantly unavoidable step that shouldn’t be ignored. However, exfoliation should be done not more than three times a week. AHA even helps to reduce inflammation and dead cells from the skin. It evens and neutralizes the skin tone removing patchiness from the skin. It even reduces wrinkles and improves the texture of the skin.

If someone has fine lines, pores, wrinkles, and other such skin problems, then AHA would be a boon for you. The skin generates dead cells which are hard to stop. These dead cells may deposit in the skin thereby leading to skin problems. This condition may worsen if the damage to the skin further increases due to exposure to the sun and other problems. Using an exfoliator would help to solve these problems. It would allow the skin to breathe thereby allowing it to get rid of skin problems.

However, you should choose the AHA depending on the type of skin problem your skin needs to fight. You should go through all possible options available for your skin. Then, you should choose wisely according to your skin type. AHA is mainly recommended for skin types that are either dry or damaged due to the sun. Apart from hydrating the skin, it has anti-aging qualities and even helps brighten the skin. However, sensitive skin or skin types who face regular breakouts should not use AHA.

Moisturize

If you use any product containing AHA, then it is essential to allow your skin some time to absorb the product. If you don’t allow enough time for the product to dry, then the product wouldn’t be much effective. In addition to that, it would also affect the layers of other make-up products you would use later. This is why it is advised to maintain some time gaps between the application of products.

Conclusion

AHAs are mostly present in toners and most other skincare products. So, you need not worry about getting some specific product. It is wise to maintain a minimum time gap between the application of products. The skin won’t be able to tolerate all the products at one go. Maintaining a minimum time gap of about 10 minutes would allow enough space for the skin to breathe and absorb the benefits of the product.

Moisturising the skin is even equally important. It would decrease the risks of skin problems and would hide blemishes. It even rejuvenates the skin thereby making it look afresh. Hence, it is best to carry out all the steps maintaining a time gap.
