The game has various paths, which lead to various endings. The player has to control the Geralt of Rivia. The game is divided into 5 parts:- Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2 (Roche path), Chapter 2 (Lorveth Path), Chapter 3, Epilogue.

In the Prologue, Foltest’s secret relationship with baroness Maria Louisa La Valette during the events of The Witcher is revealed. Their secret relationship had gifted them two children named Anais and Boussy.

After being saved from being killed by a witch assassin by Geralt, Foltest tries to claim his children and take them away from their mother. He even wages a war to get his children. On the way to his children with Geralt, he was killed by unknown assassins.

Geralt was suspected to be the murderer of Foltest, the king of Temeria, which ruined all his reputation and led him to prison. In the prison, he was interrogated by Vernon Roche, the head of special forces of Temeria where he finds him innocent. Vernon Roche assists Geralt in escaping from the prison with the help of sorceress Triss Merigold.

In Chapter 1, they arrive at Flotsam where they are secretly attacked by a revel elf, Lorveth, who is suspected to be associated with the witcher who had assassinated King Demavend of the of Aedirn, a neighbouring country of Termeria.

At Flotsam, Geralt saves his old friends successfully and kills a monster who used to disrupt trade routes of the town. Geralt comes to know that Loredo, the commander of Termeria was planning to sell the town to King Henselt of Kaedwen which leads to the confrontation of Geralt and Iorveth with Letho.

Roche even comes prepared with an armed force. Then the player has to choose to assist either Iorveth or Roche, thus paving the path for the next chapter followed by the ending.

While some people have reported completing the game within 24 hours, some have even played it for 54 hours.

Why Does It Take So Long To Complete The Witcher 2?

The Witcher 2 has a better presentation than any other one of its series. It grips over once attention right from the beginning and involves several grey moralities.
