How Long Does It Take To End The Game: Stardew Valley?

At first glance, Stardew Valley looks like an ordinary farming RPG with simple graphics and simple quests. But it is not the case. One may say it is a simple-looking video game but has depth, way much more than one might assume at first glance. This game not just has days, like other video games, but rather seasons. Even if one ignores the side quests and puts their focus on completing the farm, it may take from 80 to 100 hours to beat Stardew Valley. Although if one tries to do side quests as well, the game might take more than 300 hours.

It is a farming RPG game but it has so much more. In this game, one cannot just farm, but build and renovate buildings. One can have a variety of pets. The pets can be loved and fed and in return, they give several items. One can explore the practically infinite caves, so they have no end. One can marry other Non-Playable Characters and interact with so many other characters, which puts life into this simple-looking game.

For the bigger surprise, this game was made by just one developer. The creator Eric Barone, wanted to create something realistic. He wanted to create a kind of game in which the gamer can interact with NPCs with very minimal or no repetitiveness, live, and have something they could relate to. That is why the game has so many unique NPCs, and what’s more amazing is that each NPC is unique by looks and by their dialogues as well, which are repetitive in most games.

Why Does It Take That Long To End The Game: Stardew Valley?

As mentioned before, Stardew Valley is a massive game. One can do farming, explore the never-ending caves, fight various mobs in these caves, do fishing, have pets, feed and take care of them, wander around the map, interact with so many unique NPCs, do quests, and so much more. This depth makes this game a lot bigger and hence, time-consuming.

Not just that, while playing such games one gets distracted from what they were doing. This game is so massive that it is not easy to focus on one thing. Very often, when a player goes to find something, they might get distracted by something else and might end up spending hours on that. This increases the time of the game substantially. Other than that, there are long quests and sometimes quests that require very rare items. Sometimes, to do one thing the player has to do something else which could be time-consuming which makes one spend lots of time on this game.

Also, the NPCs are very unique in this game too. Every NPC has a different look and dialogue. Video games are a set of NPCs appearances and repeat them again and again. Dialogues are also very repetitive. But in Stardew Valley, that is not the case. Each character in this is unique with unique dialogues. This makes them more realistic and also the player more curious. The player may want to try talking to all or most of them just to know what do the NPC has to say.

Conclusion

Farming video games are becoming popular. Among the most successful farming games, stands Stardew Valley. It is an RPG farming game and is massive. There is so much to do that the game cannot be beaten in a few hours. It may take more than a hundred hours to finish the game.

One can do farming, fishing, renovation, exploring, etc., in this game. It is a simple-looking game but needs a lot of time to be completed. The NPCs are made unique to make them more realistic and deep. But one must not get addicted to the game too much and should play it responsibly.
